The technique behind the e-bike
When the pedals are activated a sensor mounted on the crank
sends a signal to the controller which then starts the motor. The
power of the motor is then ad-
justed according to the chosen assist level during
the ride. The electronic steering will automatically disconnect the
motor when you stop pedaling. If you drive uphill you may apply
full power whereas when you go downhill you may disconnect the
motor. Like-
wise the steering will disconnect the motor when
you step on the brake or your speed exceeds 24.6 km/h. The more
efforts you put into pedaling, the longer range you will get. With
the new types of lightweight e-bikes it is no problem to use
e-bikes
as a conventional bike and then switch on the assist function if
you need help during your ride.
